Short after the official release of Drupal 8, a group of MD Systems developers joined the Drupal Camp in Vienna to visit interesting presentations and participate in the sprints to improve Drupal 8.

Today is the day of the long awaited official release of the CMS Framework Drupal 8! After years of development, with numerous developers contributing countless lines of code, it is finally officially released. We completed various projects in Drupal 8 already but we are looking forward to many more!

Short before the Drupal 8 release, the Swiss Drupal community came together at the meeting room of WOZ and enjoyed three interesting presentations about the Drupal 8 Media Initiative Program, the Development Setup at Unic and Configuration Translation.

The Swiss Open Systems User Group - also called /ch/open - presents the Open Source Software Award every year. This year, MD Systems has been nominated by the 15-member jury for their extensive contributions to Drupal 8.

MD Systems, Ringier and Südostschweiz have founded a program led by maintainer Janez Urevc to unblock the Media Initiative with a dedicated team of developers.

The fourth NP8 platform has been published in record time: www.letemps.ch. Thus another Swiss newspaper has its website relaunched on Drupal 8 with our support and is now ready for the technology of the future.

On October 8th, MD Systems once again hosted the Drupal User Group Switzerland. It was a great evening with interesting presentations about the DrupalCon Barcelona and the relaunch of the Le Temps website.

We are excited that the Drupal 8 release candidate finally has been published on October 7th 2015! After many years of development the critical issues have been eliminated and D8 Core is ready for the first official release.

After a summer break, the Swiss Drupalistas met again at the Drupal User Group. This time, UNIC provided their office and prepared food and drinks for all the visitors. Thanks for that! As usual in September, the audience could listen to presentations that will be held at the Drupalcon (this year in Barcelona) and give feedback for the presenters.

After several months of beta phase the old version of Südostschweiz has been replaced by the NP8 instance. We are pleased that the relaunch has been successful and therefore the first news portal based on Drupal 8 is fully productive.
