After several months of beta phase the old version of Südostschweiz has been replaced by the NP8 instance. We are pleased that the relaunch has been successful and therefore the first news portal based on Drupal 8 is fully productive.

The release date for Drupal 8 is getting closer. Time to talk about the possibilities and challenges of these new technologies. On May 1st, a group of decision makers and enthousiasts met at Liip to find out more about D8, Platform.sh and Symphony.

Today, the Drupal 8 Modul Status Website has been updated. On the website Sascha Grossenbacher (Berdir) initiated a lot of Drupal Contrib Modules are listed with an information about the status of their automated tests with the newest Drupal core version.

Right after finishing my 3rd year exams at university, I took a flight from Colombo (Sri Lanka) to Zurich, to start my Drupal 8 internship at MD Systems. 23rd of October 2014 was my first day at work...

With "Südostschweiz Beta" on http://beta.suedostschweiz.ch/ the first NP8 instance and thus the first News Portal based on Drupal 8 went live. Last year MD Systems developed, together with Somedia and Gassmann Media, the NP8 Install Profile which served as the foundation for todays "Südostschweiz Beta" website.

The core of the NP8 project is completed, soon there will be the initial release of the first media portals with Drupal 8 (D8). Due to its intensive work on core and contrib modules of the next version of Drupal, MD Systems was able to play a leading role.February 2014 saw the start of the NP8 project (News-Portal with Drupal 8) of MD Systems. Together with two partners in the Swiss media landscape, Somedia and Gassmann Media, we started with two-week sprints the work on Drupal 8 core and related contrib modules of D8.

The Drupal User Group Switzerland came together at MD Systems offices on February, 11.Around 20 Drupalistas came to see the following presentations:

During the weekend of January 17–18, Drupal sprinting events were held all over the world. Around 20 Swiss Drupalistas spent the weekend at the Amazee Labs offices in Zurich, where MD Systems was represented by three employees and us two interns.
