News D8 experts come together at FFS 26. September 2014 Last weekend, the monthly First Friday Sprint took place in the offices of MD Systems. Once again, it was a great success. On Friday and Saturday, a lot of work was done for Drupal 8 modules: Bugs were fixed, tests edited, and releases committed. Blog Number 1: First Month 15. August 2014 I’ve been working at MD Systems as an intern for a month now, It’s amazing how fast time flies by and you don’t even realise it. The start of my internship 7. August 2014 On August 1st, I celebrated not only the Swiss national day, but also my first month as an intern here at MD Systems. I arrived from Sweden in the very end of July, and have been hacking along at different Drupal 8 projects since then. Sprinting for Drupal 8 Media 25. July 2014 Media is a key topic for most sites. With the major release cycle of Drupal 8, the media initiative faces both huge opportunity and challenges.To account the importance of the Media Initiative in Drupal 8, MD Systems organised a full-week sprint from 21.7. to 25.7. with more than 19 participants from the community. NP8: The solution for News-Portals 24. June 2014 The media corporations Somedia and Gassmann Media together with MD systems initiate and realize a new news portal solution, which allows them as well as other regional and local newspaper publishers a modern and highly efficient news portal at optimal investment-, operation- and development costs. Layout for Drupal 8 4. June 2014 Drupal 8 is quickly evolving and the remaining tasks are becoming very clear and concrete. The topic 'layout management' and the need for a related sprint has been identified long ago. Therefore, we recently announced this very sprint in the Swiss Drupal User Group.At MD Systems, 6 people already work full time for Drupal 8 core, contrib and related customer projects. Our experience as architects and expert consultants allows us to identify the missing pieces and design reusable solutions. A full week of Search API sprinting. 5. May 2014 With the goal to port Search API to Drupal 8 we organized a sprint from 28. April to 2. Mai 2014. The goals were ambitiously set. Due to a large number of competent participants it was a big succes and most targets have been reached! Search API for Drupal 8 5. April 2014 At MD Systems work on Drupal 8 is in full swing. We start working on new modules for Drupal 8 almost every week. But this time it is about something bigger.Challenging projects need powerful search - Usually MySQL cannot keep up. Specialized search systems such as Apache Solr are then used.All search engines have one thing in common: Instead of looking directly at the database, an optimized search index is created.
