Insights and Recommendations

Due to our involvement in the development of Drupal itself, we are aware of new developments and opportunities in the Drupal ecosystem.

Additionally, we are keeping up with the latest trends and developments in many software development areas. But also website accessibility for all and digital sovereignty through open source are topics that are very important to us.

With this knowledge, we can support you to make most of the latest developments in applications and develop and maintain state-of-the-art projects.

Performance optimizations

An aspect of Drupal developments that’s of specific interest to us is Performance. We’ve been involved in dozens of smaller and bigger improvements in Drupal core and contributed projects. We also maintain various performance-related projects such as the Redis integration.

The Drupal 11.3 release in December 2025 includes the biggest performance improvements in a release in a decade, we contributed to many of those improvements and wrote a detailed blog post about it.

Every project is built differently, but the expertise we have in this area allows us to identify and fix the specific bottlenecks that affect these projects.

Project management

We value open and honest communication. We provide detailed estimates and timelines ahead of development and hold ourselves to them. At the same time, we are fully aware that the end result rarely matches exactly what a client imagined at first and use agile principles and flexibility to account for change of direction within a project. We think ahead and consider different angles to any problem. Our goal is to achieve the best-possible outcome for any given situation.

Development environments

For local development, we standardized on using DDEV, a docker based, de-facto standard and well-established development environment management in the Drupal ecosystem.

It is well integrated with Upsun and allows efficient onboarding of developers in projects.

Service and language versions are kept in sync between production and automatically
shared between all involved developers.
